Thank you for interview, Matthew! Other than misquoting Obi-wan, and remember Kung Fu for the Nintendo as “Kung Fu Alley”, I thought it went well. 🙂
Keep up the great work on All The Wonders.
Another fantastic podcast! Matthew and Giuseppe have great chemistry, many shared experiences, and a passion for illustrated literature that just oozes from every sentence of this podcast.
My direction has improved by listening to this podcast and I jotted down notes that will impact more than just my life as an illustrator and author. They will impact my life.
Thank you – and time to TRUST MYSELF!
Thank you for listening, Dustin! Giuseppe is an amazing guy and I can’t wait to have him on again! Save your questions. I’ll be sending out a call for them!
Catching up on all these podcasts – they are terrific! I really admire Giuseppe (and you!) for all he gives back to the community. As a sidenote, I grew up in Timonium. Towson was our big rival, though I have fond memories of the Towson Public Library. That library introduced me to Andrew Loomis, Maxfield Parrish, and other Golden Age Illustrators who were foundational to my background as an illustrator and digital artist. After I left for college, my parents then moved to Ellicott City and my junior high school art teacher (who I am still in contact with) taught at MICA for awhile! Although I live in Los Angeles now, I do visit my mom at least once a year. Maybe someday we’ll run into each other at a crab feast!
This episode was a breath of fresh air. It was so honest yet inspiring. Thank you, Matthew and Giuseppe for reminding illustrators that it comes down to simple things- enjoyment, love, doing the work, and being smart about it. I have some new ideas to work with in marketing, and some extra fire! Thanks!
This was a delightful interview; thank you so much, Matthew! It is so refreshing to hear this kind of down-to-earth talk that you guys engage in. Hi Giuseppe!
I enjoyed listening to the interview. There’s much to learn from it.
Giuseppe ‘s path into illustration is interesting, from a non-reader child to a professional AD!
