Steve’s Space
Some artists work in small spaces. Some artists work in large spaces. Author/illustrator, Steve Light‘s New York studio is just right for an artist who collects fountain pens and very small toys.
In this video, episode 1 of our Creative Spaces series, you will get an insight into Steve’s illustration process, learn about the tools he used as a child, and hear wonderful advice for any aspiring artist.

Great video! I love Steve’s Dragon book 🙂
One of my absolute favorites! Especially that penultimate spread of Chinatown!
I loved seeing your space Steve! I live in the suburbs and we are in the process of adding an art studio to our basement. We’re a mixed media family so I can’t wait to see what it ends up including when it’s done – but it won’t include any cars!
Oh my goodness I can’t wait to see photos of this mixed media space in action and alive from all of the Townes family members!
I love seeing the process. Amazing work. What a great closet.
Isn’t it incredible?! Steve works in a small space with small tools to create such grand and sweeping work!
